VeriDaaS’ proprietary Geiger-mode systems on display at premier international conference

DENVER, CO – March 1, 2022 – VeriDaaS Corporation (“VeriDaaS”) is pleased to have recently presented at The International LiDAR Mapping Forum (ILMF), a technical conference and exhibition showcasing the latest in airborne, terrestrial, and underwater LiDAR as well as emerging remote-sensing and data collection tools and technologies.

From February 5 to 8, 2022, VeriDaaS presented the unique capabilities of its High-Definition Geiger-mode LiDaR systems, giving special emphasis to their advantages in the utility market and forestry applications.

VeriDaaS joined other presenters, including Autodesk, Esri, Hexagon Geosystems, General Motors, the Beck Group, the U.S. Geological Survey and NASA, among others.

“We were delighted to have the opportunity to demonstrate what’s possible with High-Definition Geiger-mode LiDAR,” said Christopher D. Payne, CEO of VeriDaaS. “Our systems produce datasets of unprecedented richness and accuracy to support decision-makers across multiple vertical markets.”
VeriDaaS’ deep analytics and remote sensing experience are quickly setting a new standard in image science by providing increased availability of geospatial data to help utilities more dynamically and cost-effectively manage their networks.

Geiger-Mode LiDAR collects high-density 3D data points faster, more efficiently and more accurately than conventional linear LiDAR. This breakthrough in 3D mapping technology enables the aircraft to fly at higher altitudes, providing greatly improved collection rates with high-resolution spatial detail.

Originally designed to provide superior foliage penetration, Geiger-Mode LiDAR is becoming the technology of choice in forestry applications. Compared with conventional Linear-mode systems, Geiger-Mode LiDAR’s high-density, multi-angle looks offer a better chance of seeing through foliage, allowing improved assessment of a forest’s shrub and timber-litter understory. It reliably and cost-effectively provides critical forest information across scales—from the individual tree level to the aggregate landscape level—over large areas to support forestry and wildfire management.
